The NCRDPA was formed in 1993 to acquire, stabilize and restore the Depot to use as a small museum. The exterior restoration was completed Autumn 1995. The platforms and interior are currently being restored. Restoration should be completed by Winter 1996. The next will be to establish an interpretive museum in the Depot.
