Overview

The waters of Limekiln Lake has a large population of the splake species.

Limekiln Lake is mostly known for having a large population of one species of fish, splake. The splake population thrives in the lake and the waters recieve an annual stocking of 2,000 splake. The lake sees more traffic from anglers in the winter than in the summer.

There is a state campground with a cartop launch for smaller boats on the north side. Larger boats will need to use the private marina that is close by the campground.

Absolutely LOVE Limekiln Lake. It is "My Happy Place". Love the quiet and peacefulness of the campground. Listening to the Loons on the lake are one of my favorite things. I was lucky enough to be there 3 times this summer. Can't wait til next summer. <3

I love camping on Limekiln but the fishing is awful. Used a fish finder all over the lake and saw a handful of small fish. Go to relax and swim not good fishing
