Long Lake

Hamilton County, NY

Overview

Long Lake is a 14 mile stretch of water that is a great fishing for anglers in the Adirondacks.

Long Lake in Hamtilton County is a great fishing spot for smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, and northern pike. The northern section of Long Lake is the best area for smallmouth bass. Anglers should try the areas near the islands in the north section for the best chances of smallmouth.

The best spots for northern pike is at the Big Brook Bay area and the area at the lake's outlet in the northeast corner.

Anglers looking for largemouth bass should stick to the southern section of the lake. There is a growing largemouth fishery in the southern section that keeps the population steady. The usual areas of fallen trees and docks work great for housing the largemouths and you can catch large five-pound bucketmouths there.

There is a boat launch in the village of Long Lake. The DEC launch is on the south section of lake on the north end of the village.
