Adirondack Balloon Festival 2012

Adirondack Balloon Festival - Balloon Launch Dozens of hot air balloons float over the Adirondack countryside at the annual Adirondack Balloon Festival.

ADIRONDACKS NY -- The Adirondack Balloon Festival is September 20 - 23, 2012! Come witness the wonder as hot air balloons of all colors, shapes and sizes set launch all at once over the Adirondack countryside at several events throughout the weekend. An awe-inspiring event for children and adults alike, the Adirondack Balloon Festival is fun and FREE to attend.

This year's festival doubles as a birthday party! 2012 marks the Adirondack Balloon Festival's 40th anniversary and to celebrate the festival will launch a huge birthday cake hot air balloon into the sky.

More than 100 balloons will take to the air all at once, making a spectacle in the sky that can't be missed!

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 20TH

Crandall Park - City of Glens Falls

4:30- 6:30pm: Music and Band Performance
5:00 pm: Opening Ceremonies, Acknowledgement of 40th Anniversary
5:15 pm: Launch of “Birthday Cake” balloon followed by launch of 20 balloons

Glen Street- Downtown Glens Falls, NY

6:00- 9:30 pm: Glens Falls Downtown Balloon Festival & Classic Car Show featuring balloon baskets on display, car show, kid’s activities and FIREWORKS!

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 21ST

Floyd Bennett Memorial Airport - Queensbury

3:00 pm: Gates Open, Craft Fair and Food Vendors open for business
5:00 pm: Balloon Launch - 80+ balloons including special shapes

Battlefield Park, Lake George Village
8:00 pm: MOONGLOW at the lake, followed by fireworks display

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 22ND

Floyd Bennett Memorial Airport - Town of Queensbury

5:00 - 11:00 am: "Big Balloon Breakfast" - Airport Hanger
6:00 am - 7:00 pm: Food vendors open for business, Craft Fair with 30+ vendors, Kids activities
6:30 am: Flight of 100 balloons, including special shapes
2:00- 5:00 pm: Performance by Jonathan Newell band
5:00 pm: Flight of 100 balloons, including 10+ special shapes
8:00pm: '40 for 40' MOONGLOW, up to 40 balloon illuminate the night

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 23RD

Floyd Bennett Memorial Airport - Town of Queensbury

5:00 - 11:00 am: "Big Balloon Breakfast" - Airport Hanger
6:00 am - 12:00 pm: Food vendors, Craft Fair with 30+ vendors, Kids activities
6:30 am: 'Walter's Mass Ascension' simultaneous flight of 100 balloons, including 10+ special shapes
8:00 am: Catholic Mass in the Entertainment tent
9:00 am: Protestant Sunday Service in the Entertainment tent
