Are you ready to experience the beauty of nature and boost your confidence in the outdoors? Join CATSWomen, a volunteer-led group dedicated to empowering women of all ages and abilities, for a scenic hike in the stunning Split Rock Forest in Essex, New York. This welcoming environment is perfect for building friendships and enhancing outdoor skills and is supported by Champlain Area Trails.
Event Details:
- Hike Location: Out-and-back trail to a beach at Split Rock Forest in Essex, New York
- Trail Distance: 2 miles
- Difficulty Level: Easy-Moderate
- Estimate Duration: Approximately 3 hours (including time at the water)
Hiking Experience:
The hike will be about 2 miles round trip to a beach, where we'll stay and enjoy Lake Champlain. It's a perfect way to spend a hot summer day!

Schedule:
- Meeting Time: Arrive at the trailhead by 9:45 AM for a prompt 10:00 AM start.
What to Bring:
Prepare for the spring conditions by bringing the following essentials:
- a towel and bathing suit if you want to swim!
- clothing appropriate for the sun and potentially bugs
- shoes that can get wet and muddy
- Plenty of water
- Snacks or a packed lunch

The parking area is located on Lake Shore Road, in Essex, New York, at the Lewis Clearing Bay Trailhead.
