From December to March many areas in this region revel in an annual accumulation of approximately 300” of fresh powder!
Whether you’re looking for a guided tour or prefer to strike out on your own, there is plenty of open trail for exploring. The Old Forge and Inlet areas host hundreds of miles of groomed trails giving the area its name, “The Snowmobile Capital of the East”.
Destinations are varied and unique, ranging from the Moose River Plains Wilderness, Cranberry Lake, the Long Lake area, even all the way north to the Canadian border. Trails here are skillfully maintained, providing riders invigorating runs with access to magnificent wilderness areas.
Hamilton County and the Speculator areas have the largest trail system in the state, with more than 750 miles of groomed trails to choose from! This area provides incredible views of the majestic Adirondacks, with trails that provide snowmobilers with an amazing outdoor experience. Frequent fresh powder and brisk temperatures make this area a sure bet for finding a snowmobile race nearly every weekend.
