I have never had to stay in a place as disgusting as this. If I could give 0 stars, I would in a heartbeat. We checked in around 5:30 pm after spending a day doing excursions. There were multiple spiders and other bugs, dust everywhere, hairs and stains on the sheets, hairs in the drain, empty wrappers, stains on the faucets, plumbing that leaks used water to the floor every time you wash your hands, etc. We went back to the check in desk and told them about the condition of our room. Apparently, the worker at the front desk is the owner’s son. He told us they have no other room availability and he saw the cleaning lady at our room this morning. There was nothing else he said or was willing to do. My family and I ran to the dollar general nearby and bought cleaning supplies. We spent the next hour cleaning the room, putting our own sheets on the bed, etc. The manager- who is apparently the owner and there is no actual manager- was supposed to meet us at 9 am the next morning. We waited for several minutes and he showed up to the front desk looking surprised to see us. As I yet again began explaining the condition of our room, another customer came in and he went to help her mid-conversation. She had some complaints, so he asked her to go outside with him. At this point, we all went outside because I also was trying to voice my concerns and this was unprofessional of him. She reported hair in the drain, a clogged drain so they couldn’t shower, blood on the sheets, etc. I jumped in and explained my situation as well. The owner essentially blamed us for not bringing it to his attention earlier—even though we reported this to his staff within minutes of checking in. He raised his voice numerous times and kept trying to pass us off to his Housekeeping colleague (bless her soul for everything she puts up with). She clearly told us that there is nothing she’s able to do for us in her position and that it would be up to the owner. The owner refused to listen to us, refund us, or do anything about this experience. He stated that since I booked through Expedia he couldn’t do anything- although I paid there in person with my credit card. He even demanded the key from me to check me out, while all our stuff was still in the room and we hadn’t packed up yet. This owner was inappropriate, disrespectful, and unprofessional. This hotel room was disgusting, unclean, and very concerning during a pandemic. There was no cleaning/disinfecting done in our room prior to our arrival. That all being said, the next morning, we saw that there are actual children who are working there (younger than 14, but we did not ask their age). They claim to be helping their “Auntie,” but they are doing actual labor. This is another huge concern, and we plan on reporting this business. I do not recommend staying here. I am appalled at any positive reviews, as clearly anyone who thinks this place is “clean” has impeccably low standards. Do not come to this hotel.
