"Maple Syrup: A Sweet History" Presented By: Kristina Parker-Wingler & Josh Wingler, owners of Parker Family Maple Farm. Kristina Parker-Wingler is a graduate of SUNY Plattsburgh with a B.A. in history, an avid local historian, and 4thgeneration maple producer. Josh Wingler is a living-history historian with an interest in local history and over 10 years of reenacting experience. Together they serve on the board of the 1812 Homestead Foundation and have coupled their passion for history with their family business, Parker Family Maple Farm. Using a variety of digital media, artifacts, and displays, they will be discussing the "roots" of the maple industry in Northern New York, from early beginnings in Native American lore to the modern thriving industry in the Northcountry. A maple-tasting is also in store!
