SARANAC LAKE NY -- Ring in the 2012 New Year at First Night® Saranac Lake! This festive holiday event draws thousands to the Adirondacks on December 31st each year to welcome the New Year with live music, one-of-a-kind entertainment and other special events.
The Opening Ceremony at Harrietstown Town Hall starts that evening at 5:45 pm, where the mayor declares the official beginning of First Night Saranac Lake 2012!
After the opening festivities, head to local venues to enjoy great entertainment, including comedy, storytelling, poetry reading and puppet theatre. Enjoy a variety of music including, rock, folk, classical, jazz, blues, pop-folk, country, zydeco, steel drumming and much more. All First Night® events are held indoors and most withing walking distance from eachother.
The party gets even more intense at midnight when Saranac Lake's unique snowflake/ball drops at the Band Shell Park on Riverside Drive. A spectacular fireworks display tops off the night as Saranac Lake wishes everyone a very Happy New Year!
One button does it all! To participate in First Night® Saranac Lake festivities, you need only buy a single button for $12 a piece for adults. Children under 12 receive their own specially designed buttons, which are free.
