Opening Reception For Lynn Manning's New Exhibition
*Please Note: Due to weather predictions, this event has been postponed from January 5 to February 2, 2018.*
Lynn Manning of Peru will be the featured artist at the Adirondack Artists Guild for the month of January. She was the winner of the 2017 juried art show at the Guild’s gallery. The show's reception will be on Friday, February 2.
Lynn graduated from Plattsburgh State University with a BA in art and an MS in education. She taught high school art locally for 31 years. She greatly enjoyed introducing her students to the joys of making art. Now in retirement, she has the opportunity to create art for herself, and to enjoy the artistic community as a practicing artist, instead of as an educator.
Her goal is to personally explore in depth as many areas of the Adirondack Park as possible, and to record the discoveries onto paper and canvas.
She is currently taking part in the Plein Air scene, moving from quick watercolor sketches into oil painting and finding it completely addictive. Plein Air gives her the perfect excuse to get out and explore in the Adirondacks.
Her work has been shown in numerous juried art shows in New York and Vermont.
