On August 23, 2014 Cornell Cooperative Extension will be holding its 5th Annual Golf Tournament and Silent Auction at Cronin's Golf Resort in Warrensburg, NY. All proceeds from this benefit will be used to help financially support Cornell Cooperative Extension's educational programs.

Well known ecologist and local professor, Dr. Curt Stager, will present his thought-provoking book, Deep Future, at Literacy Volunteers' Annual August Author Address. Environmentalists like Bill McKibben, Alan Weismann, and Elizabeth Kolbert praise Stager for his ability to untangle the history of climate change and then clearly define its unavoidable impact for generations to come. It will surely be a lecture that people of all ages can learn from. The event takes place at Camp Dudley's Witherbee Hall on Sunday August 24th at 1:00pm. This cost is $15 per person or two for $25, and can be purchased at the door or online at Literacy Volunteers website. For more information call 546-3008. Proceeds will benefit Literacy Volunteers of Essex/Franklin Counties.
