About Ticonderoga Beautification Week

The Ticonderoga Montcalm Street Partnership (TMSP), the Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC), and the Town of Ticonderoga are pleased to announce the Ticonderoga Beautification & Clean Up Week will take place May 6th – 12th, 2019 with a theme of “Show Your Community Pride.” 

Area businesses, organizations, and community members are encouraged to join in by sprucing up their properties and buildings during Beautification Week!

Free Disposal at the Transfer Station

May 7th to 9th

The Town of Ticonderoga will open it's Transfer Station to Ticonderoga Residents Only (proof of residency required) on Tuesday, May 7th; Wednesday May 8th; and Thursday May 9th from 8am to 4pm.

These dates are for free disposal with the exception of the following items which are not being accepted: hazardous waste, or items containing hazardous waste, tires, food waste, brush, C&D, shingles, and electronics. Other restrictions may apply. See an attendant for list of restricted items.

Curbside pickup for seniors 65 and older and qualified disabled only can contact Sal at the Ticonderoga Highway Department at 518.585.7317 with a list of items to be picked up. This must be arranged.

Ticonderoga Middle School Community Give Back Day

May 10th

Students from the Ticonderoga Middle School will be working on a variety of cleanup activities and community enhancement projects from 9am to 12pm as part of their Annual Community Give Back Day with support from the Town of Ticonderoga Highway Department, TACC, and TMSP. Students will also be assisting local senior citizens (65 and older) with general yard cleanup.

Citizens interested in this assistance must sign up with the Ticonderoga Area Seniors at 518.585.6050 by Thursday, May 2nd.

Lost Cost Electronics Recycling

May 11th

From 10am to 2pm, as part of the community cleanup effort, an opportunity to recycle your old electronics equipment will be available in the back of the old Rite Aid parking lot near the LaChute Trail in downtown Ticonderoga. Good Point Recycling will be available at this time.

Items accepted: TVs, microwaves, small kitchen appliances, small electronics, VCRs, stereos, DVD players, CD players, computers, computer accessories, air conditioners, and phones. The cost will range from $2 to $20. Certain items may be free.

Speak to Good Point Staff Member for details and pricing. Good Point does not accept appliances like washers, dryers, refrigerators, and stoves.

Additional Projects

A variety of clean-up activities and enhancement projects will be happening throughout the week and month by the Town, organizations, businesses, and community members. This will include work at INFO center locations, plantings, etc.

The anticipated list of specific cleanup day activities include: sweeping, trash pickup, refreshing of natural areas and the landscaping, painting, weed pulling, flower planting, LaChute Trail cleanup and maintenance, as well as a number of community projects and tasks. 

While Beautification Week is May 6th through the 12th cleaning and sprucing up of the Ticonderoga area is encouraged and will be happening throughout the month of May.
