About this event

Best 4th is a summer staple celebration here in the Adirondacks. Four days of fun and celebration, from July 1st - July 4th culminate in the Montcalm Mile, parade, and a glorious fireworks display. Located in Bicentennial Park, there will be live music, a variety of games, rides, and food vendors! This event is popular with locals and visitors alike.

2024 Schedule of Events:

Monday, July 1st:

  • 4:00 – 9:00 PM: Food Trucks & Vendors
  • 4:00 – 7:00 PM: Caricatures with Joe Ferris
  • 5:00 – 9:00 PM: Kid’s Inflatable Fun Zone & Giant Lawn Games

Includes multiple themed bounces houses, several obstacle courses, slides, and giant outdoor lawn games. Fun Zone will light up at night. Fun Zone Bracelets: $20 for 1, $35 for 2, and $10 for any additional bracelet. Bracelets are only valid for the day of purchase. Must be within the same household to access the discounted pricing.

  • 5:00 – 9:00 PM: Craft & Vendor Fair
  • 6:00 – 9:00 PM: Live Music Featuring Hodge Podge

Acoustic rock band, playing hits spanning the 60’s to the present.

*All events on July 1st to take place in Percy Thompson Bicentennial Park.

Tuesday, July 2nd:

  • 4:00 – 9:00 PM: Food Trucks & Vendors
  • 4:00 – 7:00 PM: Caricatures with Joe Ferris
  • 5:00 – 9:00 PM: Kid’s Inflatable Fun Zone & Giant Lawn Games

Wednesday, July 3rd:

  • 4:00 – 9:00 PM: Food Trucks & Vendors
  • 5:00 – 9:00 PM: Kid’s Inflatable Fun Zone & Giant Lawn Games

  • 4:00 – 7:00 PM: Touch A Truck

Kids can interact with large construction equipment, first responder vehicles, and more. To take place in parking area between Kissing Bridge and Public Kayak/Canoe Launch.

  • 5:00 – 9:00 PM: Full Face Art by Art Bucket
  • 5:00 PM: Cow Plop: Best 4th In The North Fundraiser

Tickets: $20 each. Grand Prize: $1,000. The winner does not need to be present to win. If the plop touches multiple boxes, each of those numbers will split the grand prize. This fundraiser is being made possible by Lillie Valley Farm. To take place at the Ticonderoga Recreational Field. Additional announcements will be made on the Best 4th In The North Facebook page.

  • 6:00 – 9:00 PM: Live Music Featuring Skeeter Creek

New York’s number one modern country band.

Thursday, July 4th:

  • 12:30 PM: Reading of the Declaration of Independence

Steps of the Town of Ticonderoga Community Building. Reading by Mark Wright, Town of Ticonderoga Supervisor.

  • 1:15 PM: Parade Route To Close

From Welcome To Ticonderoga Sign on Wicker Street to the Monument and down Montcalm Street to Tower Avenue.

  • 1:30 PM: Adirondack Independence Riders Motorcycle Parade

Parade Route to Glens Falls National Bank. Motorcycles will then take a left to exit Montcalm Street.  Brough to you by a volunteer motorcycle community group. In honor of Mike Rancour to benefit the Best 4th In The North. All motorcycles participating in the parade must be at Ti Automotive by 1:15 PM.

  • 1:45 PM: Annual Running of the Montcalm Mile

Parade Route. Runners of all ages are invited to participate. Advanced registration required via the LaChute Road Runners online registration link. Brought to you by the LaChute Road Runners.

  • 2:00 PM: Annual Patriotic Parade: 2024 Grand Marshal – Pam Moser

Downtown Ticonderoga: Wicker Street & Montcalm Street. The bandstand will be in front of the Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce Office. Music and sound system by DJ Cruz.

  • 4:00 – 10:00 PM: Food Trucks & Vendors
  • 4:00 – 9:00 PM: Kid’s Inflatable Fun Zone & Giant Lawn Games

Free performance for all to enjoy throughout the park.

  • 6:00 – 9:30 PM: Live Music Featuring Superstars & Legends Live

Featuring an array of celebrity tribute artists performing numerous hits. Performers may include Michael Jackson, Elvis, Johnny Cash, and others. The list of performers is subject to change.

  • 9:30/9:45 PM: Grand Fireworks Display Over Percy Thompson Bicentennial Park 

Fireworks provided by Santore World Famous Fireworks. Time is approximate and is based on weather as well as safety conditions.
