The Northville-Placid Trails- This 132 mile long Northville-Placid trail enters the woods at Benson and crossing through the Adirondack towns of Lake Durant, Long Lake and Averyville. This trail is famous terrain suitable for all levels of skiing.

Stephens Pond, Cascade Pond and Tirrell Road- This Adirondack trail begins 3 miles east of the hamlet of Blue Mountain Lake. It connects with trails to the Cascade Pond. All of these trails are ideal for cross country skiing.

Whortleberry Pond- This trail begins 7 miles east of Indian Lake. It does have some steep parts, so it may be suitable only for advanced cross country skiers.
