Goldmine Stream Falls

Arietta, NY

Overview

These picturesque, rocky falls are located in the town of Arietta, NY. They used to be tough to find, but thanks to red Xs on trees in the trailhead area you can follow your way in!

12.5 miles north of NY 29A on Powley-Piseco Road, you'll see three blazes on a tree, which signal the start of the trail. This spot is just south of a meadow and roughly 500 feet north of a camping area.

From here, walk 1.3 miles along a moderately challenging, unmarked path that follows an old logging road.

When the path begins to ascend steeply, you'll see Goldmine Stream on your left. At the top of the climb, you'll have a great view of the series of falls.

Orange blazes on trees have been covered with dark paint as of 10/1/21. Cairn is across from trailhead. Also large rock across from trailhead has been painted over (dark) to obscure past highlighting.

I found Goldmine Stream Falls without any problem (9/17/2021) as someone has marked the trailhead area trees with ❌’s of Bright red spraypaint. These falls are BEAUTIFUL! The trail in is reasonably flat… a few boggy spots, and three small streams that are easily bypassed and crossed! what a treat those falls are… and it only takes about half an hour to hike in..depending on your speed of course. I strongly recommend you check this gem out!
