Saranac Lake Islands provides miles of boater recreation through access to four additional lakes that can be reached by sets of locks that raise or lower your boat to the correct water level. Visitors have the opportunity to camp on selected island sites, fish for dinner, hike for miles and take in the beautiful sights the area has to offer. Motor boats, rowboats and canoes are welcome. Fish found in the waters include:
- Largemouth bass
- Smallmouth bass
- Northern pike
- Yellow perch
There are extensive hiking opportunities for the experienced and the inexperienced hiker. There are also a number of golf courses and horseback riding facilities nearby. Additionally, a large variety of restaurants, gift shops and shopping areas can be found in the nearby villages of Saranac Lake, Tupper Lake and Lake Placid. The state operated Adirondack Fish Hatchery is about nine miles from the campgrounds, as well.

- Multiple accessible features: 2 campsites with accessible privy, picnic table, tent pad and grill with stone dust paths
