Square Falls has a fairly flat plateau of bedrock at its top and a deep pool that is great for swimming at its base.
Although the trail is unmarked, it is well-traveled and easy to follow.
The trail begins at a turnoff on NY 8. It is located 11.6 miles from NY 30 and 5.6 miles from Bakers Mills. At the narrower north end of the parking area, you'll see a rough driveway, which is actually the beginning of the trail to the falls.
The walk through the woods lasts approximately 1.1 miles and brings hikers to the Square Falls ledge.
