Winterfest Wristbands: Your Ticket to Fun
If you're coming to the Lake George area this winter for skiing, Ice Castles, or the Winter Carnival, the Winterfest wristband is a no-brainer purchase.
A $20 Winterfest wristband gets you a 15% discount at participating hotels and a 10% discount at participating restaurants, as well as access to horse-drawn carriage rides and hot cocoa stations.
A $30 Winterfest wristband gets you all that, plus a winter activity of your choice, like sleigh riding, snowmobiling, or cross-country skiing.
2021 - 2022 Winterfest Dates
Winterfest runs from December 27, 2021 to March 11, 2022. Exact dates and times will depend on the availability with the activity you choose, and will be solidified when you purchase your wristband.
Winterfest Activities to Choose From
When you go to purchase the Winterfest wristband you'll be able to choose an activity and reserve a time slot. These activities did sell out last season, so nail down your activity as soon as possible!
Enjoy a picture-postcard, bucket-list experience on this nearly hour-long afternoon ride through snowy forests and fields, hosted by Circle B Ranch. With sleigh bells ringing, you’ll travel to a gorgeous ridge with a view of the High Peaks followed by a stop offering hot chocolate and s'mores over an open fire! This is a truly unique Adirondack experience.
Dog Sled Ride
What’s the best winter activity in the Adirondacks? Many would say dog sledding on Mirror Lake or throughout the Adirondack wilderness. These sled dogs are born and bred to run, enjoying every moment they are pulling the sled. Sit on a sled, cover yourself with flannel blankets, and get ready to take in the snow-covered Adirondacks vistas.
Snowmobile tours are offered by C+C Snowmobile Tours based out of Chestertown, NY. They are highly regarded and offer experiences for novices and experts. According to C+C Snowmobile tours, “All tours are customized to your ability level and desires. On our tours, we supply you with the snowmobile and helmets. You just bring your winter clothes and the desire to have fun!"
This is a blast. A nearby, new tubing park has four-six upper lanes and six-eight lower lanes all accessible by the moving magic carpet ride. Simply hop on with your tube and let the moving magic carpet take you uphill to the starting point. Friday nights under the lights.
Come to Adirondacks and leave as an axe throwing expert! It's fun, it's memorable, and it's easy. It's the real deal, and you'll have an hour-long session at this top-notch indoor axe throwing facility. There are multiple targets, with up to 4 people per target. (Flannel shirts and big beards not required!) Located 15 minutes from Lake George.
Enjoy an afternoon (1pm - 4 pm) cross-country skiing experience, quietly sliding through the forests of a nearby cross-country ski park. The trails are maintained, and the snow is all-natural. Customers must book at least 48 hours (2 days) prior to arrival.
Note: There are separate package options for kids (6 to 10, 11 to 17) and adults for cross-country skiing.
The afternoon snowshoeing experience takes place at Garnet Hill Lodge in North River. According to Garnet Hill, “Snowshoeing has become quite popular in recent years due to exciting equipment advances, new trails, and a renewed spirit to get out and discover the outdoors in winter. Snowshoeing is easy to learn and has been around for eons. At Garnet Hill, we have a staff that is experienced with snowshoe equipment, techniques, and trail routes, and can have you out on the trails having a great time in no time at all. Our snowshoe trail system at Garnet Hill is extensive with 6 different routes intertwining with our Nordic ski trails, providing 15 km of onsite trail snowshoeing."
Enjoy a 4-hour lift ticket at nearby West Mountain! West Mountain has 100% mounted snowmaking and 100% lighted trails to make day and night skiing equally enjoyable. West Mountain is home to 31 trails with more than 1000' in vertical drop, 126 skiable acres accommodating skiers and riders of all ages and abilities. Bring your own skis or snowboard. Rentals are available at an additional cost at the mountain.
