Wilmington Notch Campground is perfect for those looking to fish in the Ausable River and those desiring to hike the Adirondack High Peak Wilderness trails. Many sightseeing options are nearby, including Santa's Workshop and High Falls Gorge.

Please Note: Wilmington Notch Campground to Close on September 4, 2019

The DEC announced plans to close the Wilmington Notch Campground and Day Use Area on September 4th to install a new well and water system. Early closure of the campground will also provide for additional time to complete other repairs and maintenance work before the onset of water.

The nearby DEC Meadowbrook Campground will remain open until October 14, 2019. Campers with reservations to the Wilmington Notch Campground between September 3rd and October 14th are being notified through ReserveAmerica of the planned closure. These reservations will be canceled and fees refunded.

Wilmington Notch is the ideal campground for those who wish to challenge their fishing abilities in the rapids of Ausable River in pursuit of trout. A gondola ride to the summit is offered at the base of Olympic Whiteface Mountain and boasts a phenomenal view that extends for miles. Another option available is to drive up the Whiteface Mountain Memorial Highway, which winds its way to the summit. Nearby Lake Placid Olympic Village offers many attractions as well. Lastly, High Falls Gorge, a series of spectacular falls on the west branch of the Ausable River, is also close by.
