About this event
The Central Adirondack Association is pleased to announce the return of the Old Forge Winter Carnival on February 10th-12th.
This ever popular, family fun weekend event will begin with an ice skating party from 5-7pm Friday, February 10th at the Joy Tract Road rink. Hot Cocoa, music, and a roaring bonfire will be provided for your skating pleasure. Bring your own skates.
Saturday, February 11th Winter Carnival moves to McCauley Mountain Ski area, which will open at 9am for your Alpine and Nordic skiing adventures. There will be a scavenger hunt from 2- 4pm. Instructions and the scavenger items list will be available at a table in the chalet. The Grill Room will be featuring a delicious dinner menu beginning at 5pm. Live music by the Joe Bolton Band will keep the dance floor in the chalet hopping, beginning at 6pm. Coronation of this year’s Royal King and Queen, locals Jane and John Cameron, will take place during the evening on Playmate Slope, in front of the chalet. The Town of Webb Schools Alpine Ski Team will perform a fantastic torchlight skiing exhibition, and the festivities will culminate with an amazing fireworks display over McCauley Mountain.
Sunday, February 12th, will offer more family fun activities with s’mores over open firepits throughout the day. At 2pm, the Town of Webb Junior Class will host the cardboard sled races. This creative event allows kids to test their sled making and racing skills, and prizes will be awarded in categories such as the fastest sled, slowest sled, most people in one sled, etc. All sleds must be made of only cardboard. No wood or other construction materials are allowed.
