Sure, Saranac Lake and Lake Placid may technically be villages, but that doesn’t make us any less excited to announce their placement–along with Lake George–in the top 20 of MSN’s list highlighting the “Most Charming Small Towns in New York State!”

Lake George came in thirteenth on the list, and was praised for both its summer and winter attractions, including the family-friendly Lake George Winter Carnival, the beautiful boat tours offered by Lake George Waterfront Cruises, and, of course, Million Dollar Beach.
Saranac Lake placed fifth on the list, thanks to both the vibrant local culture and unbeatable scenery. Specifically, MSN mentioned the various art galleries, breweries, and boutiques one can peruse downtown, along with the easily accessible hikes around the area.
Last but certainly not least, Lake Placid secured the number one spot on the list! The article highlighted the village as the “poster child of the Adirondacks,” with special mention of its incredible variety of local restaurants, as well as the numerous outdoor activities that can be enjoyed year round–both on the lake and in the surrounding mountains.
We already knew the Adirondacks were the best part of New York State, but we are certainly excited to have that bias confirmed by MSN!
