4th of July in Lake George & Bolton Landing: Southern Adirondack Traditions

  • Timing: Multiple nights of fireworks in the Village from July 2–4, plus an all-day beach party in Bolton Landing on July 4th.

For travelers staying in the southern gateway of the park, a classic holiday always revolves around the shores of the Queen of American Lakes. The region blends a buzzing summer resort atmosphere with deep historic pride, culminating in multiple days of massive gatherings.

4th of July Weekend in Lake George (July 2-4)

In celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, the skies over Lake George Village will light up for three straight nights. Catch full displays over the lake on Thursday, July 2 and Friday, July 3 (courtesy of the Lake George Steamboat Company) leading up to the Grand Finale Independence Day display on Saturday, July 4. All shows blast off at approximately 9:30 PM.

4th of July in Bolton Landing (July 4)

Head up to Rogers Memorial Park on July 4th for a free, family-friendly celebration. Enjoy live music with Mark Rabin from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, DJ Andy Pratt starting at 2:00 PM, strolling magic with Jim Snack from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM, an evening magic stage show at 7:30 PM, and spectacular fireworks over the lake at 9:30 PM.

4th of July in Old Forge: A Western Adirondack Lakefront Celebration

  • Timing: Evening music and waterfront entertainment on July 4th leading to nightfall fireworks.

The western region of the park offers a self-contained, walkable mountain-town celebration. Anchored right on the water, this gathering is a local favorite for families who want to combine outdoor lake recreation with small-town holiday charm.

Old Forge Independence Day Celebration (July 4)

Settle in on the grass with your blankets and lawn chairs for the annual Music at the Lakefront celebration, kicking off at 7:00 PM on July 4th. After, watch a brilliant display of fireworks light up the night sky over Old Forge Pond at dusk on July 4th, creating a beautiful reflection over the water.

4th of July in Lake Placid, Saranac Lake, & Tupper Lake: High Peaks Highlights

  • Timing: High Peaks events take place on Friday, July 4th, featuring morning military flyovers, local community parades, and synchronized waterfront fireworks.

The High Peaks and Tri-Lakes area features a heavy concentration of holiday activities, anchored by Lake Placid’s legendary Olympic heritage and beautiful community displays along picturesque mountain lakes.

Lake Placid’s July 4th Parade and Celebration (July 4)

Enjoy Independence Day in Lake Placid on July 4th with an unforgettable lineup. Look to the skies at 11:12 AM for a roaring F-35 Lightning II jet flyover by the Vermont National Guard, catch the grand afternoon parade down Main Street featuring local Olympians, and dress up for patriotic inline skating on the Olympic Oval.

The night wraps up at 9:30 PM with the legendary Set the Night to Music Fireworks Spectacular over Mirror Lake.

Saranac Lake 4th of July (July 4)

Gather around the shores of the scenic Lake Flower on July 4th for a mesmerizing fireworks extravaganza. The highly anticipated crowd-pleaser blasts off at 9:00 PM against a stunning mountain backdrop.

Tupper Lake 4th of July (July 4)

Celebrate at the Tupper Lake Waterfront Park on July 4th as part of the special ADK Celebrates USA lineup. Enjoy live music at the Sunset Stage bandshell and watch the annual fireworks display illuminate the Adirondack night.

4th of July Week in Ticonderoga & North Creek: Eastern Adirondack Festivities

  • Timing: Multi-day summer festivals spanning July 1–5

If you are looking for an action-packed holiday that stretches across multiple days, the eastern edge of the park and the Gore Mountain region hold a legendary reputation for hosting large-scale community block parties.

Ticonderoga's Best 4th in the North (July 1–5)

Running from Wednesday, July 1 through Sunday, July 5 at Bicentennial Park, this expanded celebration marks America's 250th anniversary with a massive carnival midway featuring 16 rides, classic fair games, nightly live music, and a beer garden.

On July 4th, the town hosts the 40th annual Montcalm Mile footrace at 1:45 PM, followed immediately by the historic Best 4th in the North Parade. The unforgettable celebration culminates on July 4th at dusk with a spectacular fireworks display over downtown.

Town of Johnsburg Independence Day Ski Bowl Celebration (July 3–5)

Sponsored by the Town of Johnsburg from Friday, July 3 through Sunday, July 5, Ski Bowl Park hosts a weekend of fun.

Friday features a chicken BBQ fundraiser, free ice cream sundaes, student patriotic music, and fireworks at 9:20 PM. Saturday hosts a Red, White & Blue color run, cornhole tournaments, and a screening of the film 1776. Sunday wraps up with a 2:00 PM parade down Main Street followed by a family fun day with bounce houses, pony rides, and a strolling magician.

4th of July in Long Lake & Inlet: Central Adirondack Lakeside Parties

  • Location: Long Lake Town Beach & Ball Field | Arrowhead Park & Fern Park (Inlet)
  • Timing: Packed single-day holiday schedules on July 4th, featuring old-school community games, live beach concerts, and mountain-framed fireworks.

The geographic heart of the Adirondacks delivers unmatched old-school summer charm. Inlet and Long Lake offer a laid-back, community-driven holiday experience centered entirely around sandy town beaches and public parks.

Long Lake 4th of July (July 4)

Kick off July 4th at 10:00 AM with free kids' games at the ball field and strawberry shortcake at noon. At 4:00 PM, enjoy the fire department cookout before the high-energy local tradition of bed races returns to Main Street at 5:00 PM.

The party moves to the Town Beach at 6:30 PM with face painting and balloons with Penelope the Clown and a country-rock performance by Grit N Grace, followed by fireworks over the lake at dark.

Inlet 4th of July (July 4)

Spend July 4th in Inlet starting with a 9:30 AM flag raising at Legion Square and a 10:30 AM flag retirement ceremony at Fern Park. Enjoy family games at 11:00 AM, a bring-your-own lawn picnic at noon, and a colonial play presented by local children at 1:00 PM.

The evening shifts to the Arrowhead Lakefront at 7:30 PM for live music and a brilliant fireworks display over Fourth Lake at dusk.
